Saturday: Quiet weather locally…partly cloudy with a cold northeast wind 10-15mph. Most snow should fall along the East slopes of the Cascades, otherwise scattered snow showers in the NE WA/N ID Mountains. Low/High 26°/30°. 

Sunday: Mostly cloudy day with very light snow. Accumulations will remain insignificant until late night into Monday. Low/High 17°/24°.

Possible travel & cold weather related impacts next week…

Monday: Accumulating Snow likely to continue through most of the day. Spokane may receive 2 - 4 inches with higher totals into the Palouse & Central Panhandle Mountains. Low/High 13°/20°. Wind chills near 0°.

Tuesday: Very Cold. Partly cloudy to mostly sunny. Low/High,  -1°/14°…Wind chill as low as –15°.

    BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a shooting spree that left eight people dead in Mississippi began with a call regarding a domestic dispute.      The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said in a news release Sunday that three female victims and a Lincoln County sheriff's deputy were killed.

    COEUR D'ALENE (AP) - A late summer trial is scheduled for a former Lake City High School science teacher who faces lewd conduct charges.      The Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Press reports that a two-week jury trial is scheduled to begin Aug. 26 for Jeffrey Kantola. Kantola is charged with lewd conduct with a minor under the age of 16. The felony charges can carry up to 15 years in prison.
