Pullman Police Officer Slips & Breaks Leg; Crawls To Road
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - A Pullman police officer who broke his leg when he slipped and fell on a bike path crawled through the snow Tuesday to a road, then waved at cars for about 15 minutes before someone called police.
Police Cmdr. Chris Tennant says it was fortunate Officer Shane Emerson was dressed for cold weather; otherwise he may have developed hypothermia. He didn't have a cell phone with him.
The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports Emerson is assigned to Pullman High School.
