N. Idaho Registered Sex Offender To Appear On Lewd Conduct Charge

COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho (AP) - A registered sex offender who relocated to northern Idaho two months ago is being held in Kootenai County on a charge of lewd conduct with a minor.

Court records show 51-year-old Roy L. Goldsborough is scheduled to appear in Idaho's 1st District Court for a preliminary hearing next Tuesday.

Post Falls police says a 12-year-girl told her mother last week she had been sexually abused by Goldsborough, who had been dating and living with the Idaho woman after moving from Coos Bay, Ore.

Police believe Goldsborough was trying to flee from questioning when officers found him fixing a flat tire in the parking lot of a Post Falls Wal-Mart.

Police say Goldsborough was convicted twice, in 1990 and 1996, of molesting young girls in Oregon.
