OFFICIAL RELEASE: SNAP will resume scheduling appointments for the 2011 Heating Assistance Program on Friday, January 7th As in the past, appointments can be set by calling the phone appointment line at 242-2376 or using the web appointment calendar at www.snapwa.org.
Both the phone lines and web appointment calendar will open at 8:30 a.m. on January 7th. Once the web appointment calendar is open, it will be available on a 24 hour a day basis until closed.
These services are available for Spokane County residents who meet the guidelines which are posted on the SNAP website. These regulations have not changed from last year.
The phone lines will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. until an adequate number of appointments are filled.
"Those with heating assistance appointments are reminded to continue to communicate with heating providers." according to SNAP Energy Program Director Margaret Belote. "Heating assistance is not designed to pay a household's entire energy bill. But, rather to help struggling families get through the winter season."
