CAUGHT ON TAPE: Truck Slides Across Interstate, Smashes Into Barrier

BOISE - KTVB.COM obtained remarkable video of a crash on Interstate 84 Monday morning. Roads were slick in some areas after a slight dusting of snow and cold temperatures.

The driver, Joe Turmes, was taking video using his dashcam on the eastbound freeway near Maple Grove Rd. before dawn -- when a pickup truck lost control, skidded across all lanes of traffic and smashed sideways into a barrier.

As the Turmes slowed to avoid the accident, a semi-truck smashed into his car from behind.

"About 15 minutes after my commute started, I was going down the freeway and saw this truck just lose it right in front of me," Turmes said.

When he pulled over to the side of the road, the recording stops.

"I was fortunate enough to have my dashcam running this morning to capture the icy roads," Joe Turmes said.  "Unfortunately, I was also able to capture a couple car crashes."

Turmes said all the people involved in the crashes were okay.
