Local businesses identify red flags

RICHLAND, WA-Local experts say businesses need to be ready for a lot of changes this year.

Washington State University Thursday hosted a forum where business owners could learn how to spot red flags that could have costly if not devastating impacts on their businesses.

President and CEO of Pacific Crest Planning, Todd Halterman, says one of the most common mistakes businesses make is how they deal with their employees. "Whether it be performance reviews, contracts or just simply coaching and counseling sessions," Halterman says.

Other red flag warnings for businesses include changes in health care and tax laws.
