Flood Warning For Coeur d'Alene River At Cataldo

CATALDO, Idaho - The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Coeur d'Alene River at Cataldo, Idaho. Unseasonable temperatures along with rain and wind have produced significant rises in the Coeur d'Alene River.  The Coeur d'Alene River at Cataldo is forecast to reach flood stage Monday afternoon and is expected to crest at approximately one half foot above flood stage Monday evening into Tuesday.

CCC Road residents near Cataldo, Idaho could expect possible road closures, but significant flooding is not expected.  For your safety, do not drive or walk through flowing water.   As little as one foot of water on the road can move most vehicles off the road.

Residents along the Coeur d'Alene River from Cataldo to Harrison could expect low level flooding.  Residents with livestock in low levels areas should have a plan in place to move their animals to higher grounds prior to flooding.

Anyone recreating near rivers, streams or creeks should be aware that the water is dangerous during high flows and that the water is still very cold and could cause hypothermia.   They should also keep a close eye on children and pets.

Residents living in flood prone areas should tune into daily weather forecasts and be alert to changing conditions, future flood and emergency warnings.
