WATCH IT: Howard Stern Slams Jay Leno's Viewers: 'America Must Be Filled With Morons'

USATODAY.COM - Howard Stern dominated Piers Morgan Tonight on Tuesday. The SiriusXM shock jock took off his signature sunglasses and - with his blue eyes sparkling - Stern, 57, sat down and took over the conversation on night two of Morgan's new CNN interview program.

"I want to congratulate you on unseating a 95-year-old man," said Stern. "Poor Larry King is sitting home right now pulling what few hairs he had in his head out right now. "

Stern went on, "I like you. ... But who the hell knows what you're going to do on here. They tell me you're a journalist."

"I was a journalist for 25 years!" said Morgan.

"Ok. But people in America don't know that. What is your background? Tell the world," said Stern.

"I'm doing the interview, Howard. This is not your show. I'm in charge!" said Morgan.

Replied Stern: "As I said to your people, Piers was in England. To be successful in England - very nice. But England's the size of Philadelphia. To conquer England it takes about two days."

Said Morgan: "You call yourself the King of All Media. You don't even have kings in America. You're not allowed to be a king."

After some chatting, Stern said, "I heard a rumor that you were going to challenge me today. You wanted to be confrontational. You were going to say YOU are the best interviewers in the world. I'm glad you're confident. My friend, you have a lot to prove here. Here's my prediction: In three months you'll have fired your talent booker... I said, the first week is great. You have Oprah, you have me. What's going to happen three months from now when you're interviewing Scott Baio? Who's gonna care?"

Other highlights:

-Morgan tried to get salary figures of his new contract out of Stern, but Stern would only admit that he now gets "a little more for a little less work."

-Stern slammed Jay Leno, saying, "Jay is insane and jay is a crook. And the whole world knows exactly what he is up to. He steals a tremendous amount of material. He is not fit to scrub David Letterman's feet. I don't know why he's beaten David Letterman in the ratings. America must be filled with morons who at night lay in bed and the ones who are watching him must be in a coma."

-Stern said his own radio show drives him crazy. "I came to a conclusion. My contract was up a few months ago. I really thought I was going to retire. I said, 'Why am I doing this anymore? I've proven everything I needed to prove. ... It makes me crazy. I hate getting up early every morning. ... I am driven by a neurotic compulsion to do that show. And it doesn't seem enjoyable. I go home every night and go, 'I did a horrible job!'"

-Why do it? "It's my identity. My ego."

-Piers banned Madonna from his show and asked Stern about that: "First of all Madonna's never doing your show. Most people in show business are not going to do your show. I'm doing it because I like America's Got Talent. I don't even know what this show is. I love when you hit the buzzer. ..."

-As for David Arquette, who went on Stern's show and made news by talking about his split with Courteney Cox, Stern said, "People blew up what he said. It completely backfired. No, I didn't feel guilty." After Arquette made headlines, Stern said, "I checked in on him as a friend to see if he was ok about it."

And, of course, it wouldn't be an interview with Howard unless private parts were discussed.

"How big is your penis?" asked Stern near the end of the show.

"Bigger than yours!" replied Morgan.

"Big deal. nothing to brag about," said Stern.
