Thursday Weather Update: One More Damp Disturbance…Then Calmer For A Week

KHQ WEATHER AUTHORITY: Tonight & overnight: Evening clearing, light winds & patchy fog formation.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with light morning snow changing to rain during the day…Rain should end during the afternoon about the same time breezy Southwest winds 15-25mph and partial clearing take place, Winds diminish by late evening. Low/High, 25°/37°.

Into the weekend: Pacific High pressure builds and will block/divert storms north of the region. That signals the onset of calmer weather, but also favors the daily occurrence of morning fog/low clouds, followed by afternoon sun breaks. Lows: mid-upper 20's…Highs: mid-upper 30's. 

FYI: The record low temperature for the continental U.S. of –70°F was set 56 years ago today (Jan 20th, 1954) in Rogers Pass, Montana…Today they're supposed to be 30°F…That's 100° warmer!
