New Murder Charge Filed In Green River Killings
SEATTLE (AP) - The man convicted in the Green River killings has been charged in Seattle with another murder.
The King County prosecutor announced the aggravated first-degree murder charge Monday against Gary Ridgway for the death of Rebecca "Becky" Marrero. She had not been seen since 1982 and was long considered a likely victim of the Green River Killer. Her skull was
found Dec. 21 in an Auburn ravine.
Ridgway is already serving a life sentence for murdering 48 women starting in the early 1980s. He won't face the death penalty in the Marrero case because it's covered by the 2003 deal he made
with King County investigators and prosecutors to plead guilty.
Ridgway is expected to plead guilty to the latest charge Feb. 18 at the Regional Justice Center in Kent.
