Manhunt After High-Speed Police Chase Ends In Crash

KIROTV.COM - Deputies arrested a man they say ran from a crashed SUV after a high-speed chase. The SUV almost slammed into a house on SE 205th Street in the Edmonds/Shoreline area.

Deputies said they attempted to pull the vehicle over at Aurora Avenue North and North 185th Street in Shoreline around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

Police chased the Nissan Pathfinder for about two miles until it crashed, becoming hung up on a fencepost on Northeast 205th Street near Holyrood Cemetery.

The car crashed outside Angeli Donatone's house."I happened to be awake with a sick child, felt kind of a rumble, followed by the impact, I felt it as well as heard it," Donatone told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Rick Price.

Deputies said if the fencepost had not stopped the car, it likely would have plowed into Donatone's home.

The driver ran from the scene of the crash. A number of officers and at least one dog searched for him and KIRO 7 was on the scene as they arrested the suspect on Lake Ballinger Way.

A female passenger was taken to a hospital as a precaution. Due to the car being so high off the ground, she fell several feet when trying to get out.
