UPDATE>>Washington State University men's basketball coach Ken Bone had the following statement regarding Klay Thompson.

"We are aware of the situation involving Klay and will continue to gather information. Klay will be suspended for Saturday's game against UCLA and the situation will continue to be evaluated throughout the weekend. Until that time neither myself nor the team will have further comment."

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University's star basketball player Klay Thompson has been arrested for marijuana possession. Thompson was pulled over for a routine traffic stop 11 p.m. Thursday for a burned out headlight. The officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana. Thompson denied having any. Based on the odor though he was arrested. His vehicle was impounded as officers waited for a search warrant. Officers found 1.95 grams of unburned marijuana in the car. He is now charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. According to Pullman police he will be assigned a court date in about two weeks.

Thompson scored 22 points in the Cougs win over USC Thursday night.

    SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - A Post Falls man died in a collision involving a motorcycle and semi truck Tuesday afternoon in Spokane Valley. Around 3:53 p.m., a Peterbilt semi-truck was heading westbound on Trent turning north into a private parking lot from the second lane when a Suzuki motorcycle in the first lane turned in front of the semi and collided. The driver of the motorcycle, 65-year-old Michael Arnold of Post Falls, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Detectives are investigating the in-custody death of an inmate at the Spokane County Jail. Deputies were called to the jail Tuesday afternoon regarding an inmate who was found deceased in a cell while inmates were being released for "out time" for that floor. Major Crimes Detectives are processing the scene and conducting interviews of inmates and correction staff.
