Bomb Suspect Makes First Court Appearance
SPOKANE, Wash. - While cameras were not allowed in the courtroom Kevin Harpham walked into court wearing blue jeans and a dark grey sweatshirt with a Wells Fargo logo.
He appeared calm and respectful to the judge and officials. We understand the FBI actually brought him in through the post office and not the courthouse's back entrance.
Right now Harpham is facing Attempted Use of a Weapon of Mass Destruction which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison, a $250,000 fine and up to 5-years court supervision after release.
The second charge is Possession of an Unregistered Explosive Device which carries a maximum penalty of 10-years in prison among other fines.
Harpham waived his bail hearing and is expected to appear in court again on March 23rd. Harpham will be appointed a federal defender.
