Cougars BEAT Northwestern In THRILLER Game

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State survived two missed free throws in the final second of regulation to beat Northwestern in overtime 69-66 on Wednesday night in the NIT quarterfinals. Abe Lodwick was fouled with 0.2 seconds remaining in a 64-64 game, but missed both free throws as time expired.

The Cougars recovered in overtime, outscoring the Wildcats 5-2 on the way to a 3-point victory. Ferris product DeAngelo Casto scored 11 points and pulled down 8 rebounds after his indefinite suspension was lifted by athletic director Bill Moos.

Washington State advances to play Wichita State in the NIT semifinals on March 29 at Madison Square Garden in  New York City.
