UPDATE: Missing Woman Presumed Drowned

SPD NEWS RELEASE: Spokane Police responded to the area near Haven and South Riverton on Monday night  around 7pm on a report of a woman who had fallen into the Spokane River. A witness called police after watching a woman, who was walking her dog, slip and fall into the river.

Members of the Spokane County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit responded and aided in searching for the woman. After several hours the search was unsuccessful.

On Tuesday morning the SCSO Marine Unit continued their search. The witness described the missing woman as a white female, long black hair, mid 30s. 

SPD Major Crimes Detectives are searching for any additional information about the missing woman, who has not been identified.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to call Crime Check.

Officers caution citizens using the Centennial Trail in the are about water dangers; particularly the higher water levels and fast moving current.

    BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Almost two years after a toddler disappeared during a camping trip with his family, investigators plan to return to the campsite to search for new evidence.  Lemhi County Sheriff Steve Penner told KTVB-TV last week that deputies will return to the campground outside of Leadore, Idaho once the weather improves.

    COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Deputies and fire crews from Northern Lakes Fire department responded to a report of an airplane in distress around 4 p.m. It was reported to the Coeur d'Alene Airport by the pilot, identified as 62-year-old James T. Ostrich from Redding, California, that he had a possible landing gear issues.
