Dog-Walker Still Missing; Authorities Find Dog
SPOKANE, Wash. – Two days after a woman reportedly slipped and disappeared into the Spokane River while walking a dog near the Centennial Trail, animal control authorities found a dog just blocks from the area. Authorities are working to obtain a description of the dog seen on Monday.
Authorities searched the river for two days but found no traces of the woman who reportedly slipped Monday night. A news release from the Spokane Police Department says authorities presume she drowned.
A resident near Havana and Upriver, just blocks from where the woman reportedly disappeared, called SpokAnimal this week to turn-in a stray dog she found. The brown, black and white dog appears to be an Akita-mix, but authorities have yet to confirm whether or not the dog is related to the case.
The missing woman is described as a white female with long black hair in her mid-30s.
Anyone with information on the missing woman or found dog is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
