Family Survives Avalanche As It Smashes Into Their Car On I-90

KOMO4NEWS.COM  A family of four from Pasco say it's a miracle no was seriously hurt when an avalanche struck their car on I-90.

The Parkers had just spent part of spring break in Seattle, and were driving back home over Snoqualmie Pass Wednesday when the avalanche hit.

They said it wasn't like they hit a wall of ice and snow -- they were actually driving through the snow as it came crashing down around them.

Snow poured into their car through the windows and sunroof. Randall Parker said glass was everywhere -- in their clothes and even in their mouths. He had to dig himself out to free his two daughters in the backseat. Both were OK.

His wife Roxanna said her chest was quite sore and described the moment of impact as if a log had slammed down on her. Medics had to help free Roxanna from the car and the entire family was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries and then they were released.
