A typical opening day on this lake (2007 photo) can be quite busy, but a few weeks later, the fishing pressure relaxes quite a bit. This year is much the same....It's was a beautiful spring day on West Medical Lake and I'm trying to hook into one of the 2150 large trout plants within this serene, 230-acre body of water...>>

Feel free to check out my bio and you'll find my expertise is meteorology, but my passion lies outdoors in the elements and on the water. I'm looking forward to sharing experiences, ideas, and yes…a few opinions in the b'LAWgs that lie ahead.
Let's start with the fact that spring is in full bloom and the lakes have thawed out… that means there's a little fishing to be done. Yippee! These next couple weeks will be chock full of 2 to 3 hour fishing trips during the afternoon to develop a feel for how the fish have handled wintering-over and to keep an eye out for the lake's "spring turnover." As of now, the bite is on! After 2 weeks...ask me about West Medical, Medical, Clear, Williams, & Badger Lakes...The answers may surprise you!
