Police: Teenager Pushed Woman Into Oncoming Bus
KOMO4NEWS.COM - A woman was hit by a bus Thursday afternoon after police said she was pushed into its path by a teenager.
Witnesses called 911 around 3:00 p.m. to report the woman had been struck by a Metro bus near 3rd Avenue and Seneca Street. The bus was traveling slow, police said, so the woman escaped with just a hairline fracture to her hip.
Several citizens followed the teenager when he walked away, so police were able to catch up with him near 3rd and Cherry.
Officers learned the 15-year-old boy and the 50-year-old woman did not know each other, but they got into an argument on the street. The woman pushed the teenager at some point, police said, so he retaliated by pushing her into the path of an oncoming bus. It is not known what the argument was about.
Police discovered that the teenager had previously been reported missing. He was booked into the Youth Services Center for investigation of assault.
