NIC to Host Summer Wrestling Camps

North Idaho College will host several wrestling camps in June and July for wrestlers of all ages.

The first camp will be offered the week of June 18-22 for high schoolers. This session will include technique instruction in the morning and two duels in the afternoon and evening. Teams will consist of approximately 15 weight classes and a team champion will be determined following pool competition. In one week, campers will receive nearly half the live match competition they would receive in a full high school season.

The second camp for high schoolers will comprise the same instruction and will be offered from June 25-29.

The final camp will be July 5-8 and will be targeted toward kindergarten through eighth graders and female wrestlers.

Camp staff includes NIC head wrestling coach and two-time National Junior College Athletic Association Coach of the Year Pat Whitcomb and former Olympians Kevin Jackson, Justin Abdou, Heinrich Barnes, Shaun Williams and Clarissa Chun.

All instruction will take place in NIC's Christianson Gym.

Cost is $330 for the high school camps, which includes a t-shirt and room and board. The commuter rate is $230. Cost for the kindergarten through eighth grade and girls camp is $275, or $175 for commuters.

      Linehan took home Famous Idaho Potato Bowl MVP honors after going 21-of-31 for 381 yards and four touchdowns to help Idaho take down Colorado State. On the season, Linehan finished first in the conference with 3,184 passing yards and second with 19 touchdowns.
