Stacie Davis Balances Life, Gymnastics - Spokane, North Idaho News & Weather KHQ.com

As a senior, Stacie Davis has learned organization, team building and leadership skills as team captain of University High's gymnastics team.

"She's fun, she's engaging, she's personable with the kids and she's friendly to all of them regardless of their skill level," said her coach, Tracy Duncan.

Davis believes that through competition she's learned to control her emotions, which explains her ever-cheerful attitude.

"I can really help a person become okay with a situation and really help them relax under the stress of competition," added Davis of her abilities.

Davis, whose favorite event is the balance beam, also fills an important role as team leader for her out-of-school coach.
