Police Use Stun Gun On Man Having Diabetic Episode
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Post Falls authorities say officers used a stun gun on a man they thought was resisting them but who actually was having a diabetic episode.
Police Sgt. Kathy Eshoo tells the Spokesman-Review the officers were responding Thursday to reports of a man driving erratically.
Eshoo says the man stopped his car in a yard and began fighting with the officers.
They used a stun gun on him, got him on the ground and in handcuffs and then realized he was not coherent and was having a medical episode.
The man was treated at the scene and released.
Eshoo says the man apologized and did not know what he had done.
