Man Charged With Attempted Murder Of 2-Year-Old
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A 28-year-old Great Falls man has been charged with attempted murder after a 2-year-old girl was hospitalized in critical condition with head trauma and numerous broken bones.
Cascade County prosecutors say David Wayne Hyslop was watching the child Thursday afternoon when emergency personnel received a call about a 2-year-old who was not breathing. Hyslop told investigators he dropped the girl when putting her down for a nap.
The girl was flown to a Salt Lake City hospital where she was listed in critical condition.
Court records say Hyslop, who was living with the girl's mother, was arrested on drug charges in Oklahoma in 2003 and his own children were removed from his custody. The girl's father is deployed in Afghanistan.
