Spokane Police: Purse Snatchers Arrested Again

SPD PRESS RELEASE: Spokane Police Department PACT (Patrol Anti Crime Team) officers arrested two purse snatchers Wednesday who were arrested just last week for similar crimes. This new incident happened Tuesday night at the N. Colton Wal-Mart just after 5:00pm.

The victim was pushing her cart to her car with her 5-year-old child and groceries. The suspects snatched the purse and the victim gave chase as they fled in a car. She lost the suspect vehicle and returned to her cart believing she had lost all the contents in her purse including her cell phone.

Unbeknownst to her, the child had grabbed her cell phone out of her purse and had been playing with it. As she looked at the phone, she realized that the child had also accidentally taken pictures of the vehicle, including the license plate number, as the suspects fled.

The vehicle was the same vehicle 24-year-old Andrew Auerbach and 21-year-old Samantha Thomas had used in the previous crimes. The PACT team found them on Wednesday and booked them into jail for 3 new counts of Second Degree Theft.

The PACT team also has information there may have been an attempted purse snatching yesterday at the Winco Foods on north Nevada at around 5:00pm, but the victim has not yet contacted police.

>>>We ask that they call Crime Check at 509-456-2233 and file a report so that further follow up can be done.
