UPDATE: Spokane Valley SWAT Standoff

Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - At least half a dozen officers and the SWAT team responded to a home late Thursday afternoon with guns drawn on the corner of 6th and University in Spokane Valley. Investigators believed that a person of interest with felony warrants and a criminal history was inside. He's identified as Michael Grant. It turns out Grant was not inside of the home.

Authorities say they were investigating a series of car break-ins and burglaries. That investigation led officers to 523 University where they were ready to serve a search warrant. When they arrived officers found a stolen car and stolen gun inside the car.

Police believed that Grant was in the home after a witness reported seeing a man run inside of the home.
