Spokane Man Sues Central Valley School District For Sex Abuse By Teacher
SPOKANE, Wash. - A Spokane Valley man has filed a lawsuit in Spokane County Superior Court against the Central Valley School District for child sex abuse allegedly committed by Howard Clayton Moos, a former teacher at McDonald Elementary School.
The suit alleges that Moos sexually abused the man numerous times in the gymnasium bathroom at McDonald Elementary School during basketball season, as well as the teacher's home. The abuse occurred between 1964 through 1966, beginning when the victim was about 10-years-old, the suit states. Moos is believed to be alive and would be approximately 77-years-old.
"The school authorities should have known about the risk to an innocent child," said Seattle attorney James S. Rogers, who represents the man. "It has taken decades for the victim to come to grips with the permanent and serious damage he has suffered."
The suit does not name the plaintiff in order to protect his privacy as a victim of child sex abuse.
