Mead Teens Arrested for Fiery Prank
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: Three Mead teens were arrested Saturday after they ignited a bag of human feces on the front porch of an East Moody Road resident.
The suspects were "burned" by a video security camera that caught images of their faces. The victim's daughter was able to identify the two 13-year-olds and their 14-year-old accomplice.
Deputy Terry Liljenberg was called to the victim's home in the 3400 block of East Moody about 4:15 p.m. Saturday. The adult resident showed him video of the suspects approaching his front door shortly before midnight, setting something afire and then running away.
The fire burned out, but was inches away from a combustible floor mat on the porch of the home.
The victim identified two of the suspects as Mead Middle School students. Liljenberg contacted the two named suspects, and was able to identify the third suspect.
He advised each of the boys and their guardians that they were under arrest for Second-Degree Reckless Burning and would be contacted by Spokane County Juvenile Court to resolve the charges.
