Idaho Sheriff Seeks Help With Hit-And-Run Case
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - The Kootenai County sheriff's department is asking the public for help solving a hit-and-run accident that left a 20-year-old woman and her horse injured.
Lauren Johnson was riding her horse north of Hayden on Aug. 16 when a pickup truck hit her horse, injuring both the animal and Johnson, and fled the scene.
Johnson was treated in the intensive care unit of a local hospital but has since been released.
Det. Jason Austin is asking that anyone with information about the accident call authorities. The pickup was described as a dark-colored full-size truck with a contractor's rack, and investigators believe it likely has body damage on the passenger side.
