Car Hits Vancouver-Area Garage, Injures Child

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - The man accused of a drunken driving crash that injured a 3-year-old Vancouver-area boy was ordered held Monday on $75,000 bail for investigation of hit-and-run and vehicular assault.

The Columbian reports 26-year-old Rajneel Singh of Vancouver will be arraigned Thursday in Clark County Superior Court

Sheriff's deputies believe he had been drinking and was speeding Sunday night when his car failed to make a turn and crashed into a garage where the boy was playing. He was hit by flying debris. His mother told KATU he was doing OK after receiving stitches for a cut to the back of his head.

The driver ran from the scene and was arrested about six blocks away. Deputies believe he had earlier sideswiped another car.
