KHQ.COM - An impressive storm system will move into our area late this afternoon and into the evening. Total snow for the Spokane area/Palouse should be 1"-3" , the North East Mountains of Washington (Colville, Chewelah, Kettle Falls) and the Northern Idaho Panhandle (Bonner's Ferry, Priest River, Newport, Spirit Lake) will see 2-5".

Snow turns to rain (due to a warm front)...making for a slushy, slick mess. Winds will be a major player tonight as well, with gusts to 25-35 mph....and up to 40 mph above 3000 ft (Mt. Passes).

KHQ Weather Authority has issued a Weather Authority Alert Day for Wednesday Afternoon/evening.  Weather will lead all platforms of media during that time.  Remember you can always check the radar (which includes active watch/warnings) by going to:  http://www.khq.com/global/Category.asp?c=161642
