UPDATE: Structure Fire In Spokane Valley

Spokane Valley Fire Department Press Release:

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Units from the Spokane Valley Fire Department responded to a fire reported in a garage just before 5 PM Sunday. Homeowners noticed smoke coming from the garage that is attached to their home and called 911.

First in engine company was able to control the fire located in the loft area of the structure and keep it from spreading to the home and adjacent shop. The male homeowner suffered mild smoke inhalation from fighting the fire. He was treated at the scene by fire department paramedics and released. There were no other injuries to other family members or firefighters.

At this time the cause of the fire in under investigation.

We would like to remind residents as the weather turns cold, to be sure to check their heaters ensuring they have plenty of clearance to surrounding combustibles.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Spokane Valley firefighters responded to a garage fire near the intersection Alki and Dick Rd. Sunday night.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and say it started in a crafts room in the garage. The cause is still under investigation. There were no injuries to firefighters, however the homeowner may have suffered some minor smoke inhalation and may need to go to the hospital.

Volunteers from the Red Cross have been called to assist two adults and two children and will provide food, clothing and temporary shelter as necessary.

That's what 19-year-old Kayla Irizzary did before she was taken into custody early Saturday morning by Moses Lake Police. Officers say they first contacted the woman during a traffic stop last week. She was a passenger in the stopped car.

    LINDEN, N.C. - Investigators seized a semi truck on Saturday that had $90.8 million worth of liquid methamphetamine in the driver's side fuel tank. The truck was being handled by 49-year-old Raul Topete Arreola and 48-year-old Aquileo Perez Pineda. Both men have been charged with three counts of trafficking meth.
