UPDATE: 8-Year-Old Lewiston Girl Killed After Being Hit By Car

LEWISTON, Idaho - The Lewiston Police Department has identified the 8-year-old girl who was killed after being hit by an S-U-V Friday night as Aryana Dahlin of Lewiston.

The investigation into the accident continues and the department is urging anyone with any information to call the Lewiston Police Department at 208-746-0171.

LEWISTON, Idaho - An 8-year-old was killed Friday night in Lewiston after being hit by a car.

Police were called to the intersection of Thain and Burrell just after 5:00 PM where Lewiston paramedics were treating an 8-year-old girl. She was taken to the hospital where she was later declared deceased.

Witnesses told officers that the girl was attempting to cross Burrell Avenue and was struck by a 1999 Dodge Durango driven by Lewiston resident Joycelyn Nichols. Investigators determined that Nichols was in the process of making a left turn onto Burrell when she struck the girl.

Witnesses also told police there were other people who stopped to try and help the girl. Police would like to talk with anyone who witnessed the accident or assisted the pedestrian. If you have any information you are asked to call Sgt. Jeff Klone at 208-746-0171.

Officials didn't say how old the boy was or how he was related to Nichols or Sanders.
