Police Accuse N. Idaho Man Of Trying To Burn Wife

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) - Authorities are accusing a Dalton Gardens man of dousing his wife with gasoline and trying to set her on fire during a dispute in their home.

Police say they arrested 52-year-old Daniel Zehm Sunday. He was charged Monday with intent to commit a serious felony and burglary for entering his own home with the intent of committing a felony.

The Coeur d'Alene Press reports Zehm is being held in the Kootenai County Jail and is barred from having contact with his wife, Sandra Zehm.

Investigators say the couple began arguing Saturday night and continued into Sunday morning. At one point, police say Zehm burst into the home and dumped gasoline on his wife, saturating her
clothing. He is then accused of harassing his wife and flicking a cigarette lighter.
