UPDATE: 62-Year-Old Woman Found Murdered

KHQ.COM - The Stevens County Sheriff's Office is investigating the murder of a 62 year-old woman, Narleen Campton. A neighbor discovered Campton's body around 2:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon and alerted authorities shortly thereafter.

"We have some people that we've already spoken with. There are no what we call concrete suspect at this time, but there are people were interested in talking to about the incident," Steven's County Sheriff Kendall Allen said.

Greg Rieckers has lived in Northport all 54 years of his life and he says he has never seen anything like this before.

"Nothing happens here, nothing happens here," Rieckers said. "This is a quiet place, just the way we like it."

Friends of Campton say she was a really nice, quiet lady, who often kept to herself. Northport is a town of less than 600 people not even ten minutes from the Canadian border, and everyone we spoke with today said this news is the talk of the town.
