UPDATE: Two People Shot Dead In Chelan County

UPDATED PRESS RELEASE: Sheriff Brian Burnett reports on December 4, 2011 at approximately 11:52om Rivercom received a call from a frantic female stating her mother, 36- year-old Eloisa Villalobos Aguilar had just been shot in their bathroom. 

The Suspect, 27-year-old Jaime Acevedo-Mendoza, was reportedly still inside the bathroom possibly holding her mother hostage having claimed in the past, if her mother tried to leave, Mendoza would kill her. 

Deputies arrived a short time later to find a neighbor and three children running out of the home. The Deputies were told the male and female were both lying on the bathroom floor not moving. 

They entered the residence to secure it and found both the male and female deceased with the male having an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound to his head and a pistol lying on the bathroom floor. 

During the investigation, it was discovered there was a history of domestic violence between Mendoza and Aguilar which had always gone unreported. The incident this date was not seen, but heard by the family members in the house. 

They stated Mendoza was intoxicated and confronted their mother in the bathroom. An argument ensued between Mendoza and Aguilar which resulted in Mendoza walking out of the bathroom. 

Family members stated Mendoza soon re-entered the bathroom and they heard their mother scream and then heard 3 consecutive gunshots with a 4th gunshot approximately 10 seconds later.

Mendoza and Aguilar were in a dating relationship and Mendoza lived at the family home. The three children at the family home ages 13, 17 and 19, were relocated and are now living with extended family.

CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. - Two people are dead after being shot in Chelan County. According to the Chelan Co. Sheriff's Office, the incident appears to be a murder / suicide. Deputies and medical personnel responded to 35 Apple Acres Rd. in Chelan just before midnight, Saturday.

When emergency crews arrived on scene they found a man and a woman dead from gunshot wounds. Witnesses told authorities that the man and woman were arguing and that the verbal fight led to the shooting.

Deputies are attempting to contact the victims' next of kin. The Sheriff's Office says they will release the names of the victims and more information as soon as possible.
