SCHOOL PLAY HORROR: Dad BITES OFF Man's Finger At Nativity

THESUN.COM - A dad had his finger bitten off in a fight — at a school nativity play. Parents waiting excitedly for their kids' Christmas performance were horrified as another father stormed into the primary school hall and launched himself at the victim.

They wrestled for a few moments until one dad screamed as the other latched his teeth on to his finger. The attacker then bit through the digit before "spitting blood out like an animal".

Teachers pulled the pair apart. The pupils, aged five to 11, were preparing in another part of the school — Harton Primary, in South Shields, Tyne and Wear England.

One dad said: "We were waiting for the show and I heard a commotion. A man in a white hat stormed in and went for another dad.

"They were fighting and blood was flying. I heard a finger was bitten off."

Another witness said: "The two men started to fight in front of all the mums and dads. One bit the finger off the other and spat the blood out."

A mom said: "A school is not the place to be fighting. The kids might not have been there but they will be affected. You can understand children fighting in the playground, not parents."

The brawl came after a long feud. The row had got worse recently — then both men turned up at the nativity play.

A source said: "These two have history. They have had minor bust-ups in the past, but nothing as bad as this."

The 32-year-old victim was taken to hospital where surgeons are believed to have re-attached his finger.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and later bailed.

A school spokesman said: "We are assisting the police and can confirm the incident was not witnessed by the children, nor were they at risk."
