Weather Update: Soupy Weather & Chance Freezing Drizzle for the Northern River Valleys

An "Air Stagnation Advisory" continues into Tuesday afternoon

Overnight: Locally, another dose of dense fog & frost. The northern river valleys (Okanogan, San Poil, Kettle & Colville) may experience brief freezing drizzle & sleet

Sunday: A passing (yet weak) disturbance may squeeze out a few morning snow flakes, then provide just enough mixing to partially erode those low, gray, mood dampening, stratus clouds by late afternoon and treat us to a nice sunset.  Those clouds will reform along with the fog quickly after nightfall…Low/High 26°/33°

Monday: Morning freezing fog and low overcast cloud cover becoming party to mostly cloudy during the mid-afternoon…Low/High 19°/32°

FYI: Think back…on this date in 2008, Spokane was immobilized by 12.5" of snow followed by an additional 11.1" the next day that collapsed roofs. Have a happy weekend! Dave

SPOKANE, Wash. - Laurel or Yanny? This debate all started from an audio clip where people can’t agree what word the voice is saying. We were discussing this in the KHQ Newsroom too and it seems like everyone is split. Some hear “yanny,” some hear “laurel,” and others hear both. So what exactly is going on? Audio specialists say that it’s a poor quality audio clip, but people hear different ranges of frequencies. Dylan Bennett tweeted an explanation ...
