People Escape Injury During Drive-By Shooting In Grant County

Grant County Press Release:

DESERT AIRE, Wash. – Grant County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating another drive-by shooting in the community of Desert Aire, about five miles south of Mattawa in southwestern Grant County.

Around 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 19, deputies answered a 9-1-1 call for shots fired at 510 Thunderbird Way West. Deputies were on routine patrol nearby and arrived minutes later. Deputies were told five or six adult Hispanic males dressed in black fired shotgun rounds outside and then fled in a dark colored Honda passenger car.

Several adults and children were inside the home during the shooting, but were uninjured. The home and a vehicle parked there were struck by shotgun rounds, causing about $2000 damage. This home was also the target of drive-by shooting last month.

The investigation continues. Anyone with possible information should call the Grant County Sheriff's Office at 509-754-2011 ext. 468, or send information to crimetips@co.grant.wa.us. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
