    Officer Shoots, Kills Man In Reardan

    REARDAN, Wash. - The Washington State Patrol confirms with KHQ that the Reardan Town Marshal shot and killed a man while checking on a suspicious vehicle at the Reardan Cemetery Monday morning.>>
    REARDAN, Wash. - The Washington State Patrol confirms with KHQ that the Reardan Town Marshal shot and killed a man while checking on a suspicious vehicle at the Reardan Cemetery Monday morning.>>

KHQ.COM - The coordinated investigation between the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and the Spokane Investigative Regional Response (SIRR) Team into the officer involved shooting that occurred Monday, December 19, in Reardan is progressing.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office has completed the autopsy and next of kin notifications have been made. The suspect has been identified as 54-year-old John R. Merrick of Reardan, Washington. A meeting between investigators and the involved town marshall has been scheduled for this week.

The investigation is continuing, any additional inquiries should be made to Trooper Troy Briggs at (509) 993-2946
