Spokane Police: Two Arrested For Multiple Burglaries

PRESS RELEASE FROM SPOKANE POLICE: On Friday officers arrested 26-year-old Starla Dillard and 31-year old Michael Withey for multiple counts of Residential Burglary.

Ofc B Hagar began the investigation earlier this week of a burglary in the 2600 block of West Rockwell. One of the neighbors reported seeing a small statured female around the house about the time the burglary occurred.

The house was burglarized a second time and Ofc Hagar noticed it looked like property had been placed as if the suspect may return. Hagar with the assistance of the Patrol Anti Crime Team did surveillance of the house in the hopes the suspect (s) would return. Officers saw a Subru pull up and drop off a female. The female went to the same house and the Subaru left. The vehicle returned and was stopped by officers and the driver, Withey was detained. The female, Dillard, exited the house and was detained.

Dillard was ID'd as the female burglar and she and Withey were arrested for Residential Burglary. Their vehicle was seized pending a search warrant and some stolen property was recovered. The investigation continues.

Police want to remind everyone that most residential burglaries happen during the early morning hours or during the day when people are working. If you see anyone out of the norm in your neighborhood or around your neighbor's house, please call police.

We would much rather come out before someone is victimized. It should also be noted that patrol officers do follow up on theft and burglary incidents when time permits
