Accused Christmas Killer Makes First Court Appearance
KHQ.COM - A St. Maries man accused of killing his 18-year-old girlfriend Christmas morning went before a Benewah county judge on Tuesday. 28 year old Joseph Herrera is charged with second degree murder in connection to Stefanie Comack's death.
The judge set his bail at two hundred thousand dollars.
The St. Maries Police Department says Stefanie Comack was transported to Benewah Community Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. She was later airlifted to Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, where she died.
Benewah County Coroner Ron Hodge said an autopsy was planned Tuesday. St. Maries police are still investigating the crime.
