Moses Lake Man Recovering After Machete Attack

MOSES LAKE, Wash. - A 27-year-old Moses Lake man is recovering after being assaulted with a machete early Saturday.

Around 3:00 a.m. Dec. 24, Grant County Sheriff's Deputies answered a 9-1-1 call for a stabbing at 10318 County Road 16-NE, about 10 miles north of the City of Moses Lake.

Deputies found 27-year-old Agustin Jimenez with a deep cut to his left arm allegedly caused from a machete assault by Jesus Adrian Jimenez, age 20. Agustin Jimenez was treated by AMR paramedics and Fire District 5 EMTs and transported to a local hospital.

Deputies learned Jesus Jimenez, allegedly armed with a rifle and ammunition had fled to a field after the alleged attack. Deputies called in the Moses Lake Tactical Response Team to search for Jesus Jimenez. He apparently made his way back inside the home and was apprehended after a brief struggle with officers who had received permission to search inside the home.

Jesus Jimenez is lodged in the Grant County Jail on suspicion of first degree assault-domestic violence.

The investigation continues.
