Spokane Police: Two Arrested For A Convenience Store Burglary

SPOKANE, Wash. - Early Tuesday morning officers responded to 1905 E. Mission for a possible burglary in progress. Several observant citizens observed some males breaking into the Mission Food Mart and called police.

Based on the observations and the descriptions, two suspects were detained at Magnolia/Tilseley Place. One of the suspects was bleeding steadily from a 3-4" inch cut on his inner thigh near his groin. The male told officers he had been stabbed when he was robbed earlier in the night. Police treated his wounds with "Quick Clot" and requested medical assistance.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the male had been cut while climbing through the broken glass at the Mission Food Mart. 18-year-old Carl J Biamond and 20-year-old Jelmet Akilang were arrested for 2nd Degree Burglary and Theft. Biamond was treated for the injury to his groin prior to booking.

Cigarettes and lighters from the business were recovered on the suspects.
