Father And Son Reunite After 47 Years

Posted: Updated:

HUFFINGTONPOST.COM - A father and son ushered in the new year with a miracle they weren't sure they would ever see. They met for the first time after 47 years, KXAN reports.

After shipping off to Vietnam, Mike Gold found out that his fiance was giving up their child for adoption. Gold tried finding his son throughout the years, but it was his son, Jerry Glomboske, who finally found him through an internet search.

"Always in the back of my mind, was there really a child?" Gold told KXAN.

The two -- who share a birthday and a love of horses -- met for the first time last week at Gold's farm and have already scheduled a trip for Gold to meet his grandkids.

"That's really something," Gold said. "Not only do I have a son, now I'm a grandfather." click here to watch the video report
