Rainier Park Was A Dream Job For Slain Ranger

SEATTLE (AP) - Relatives say the Mount Rainier National Park ranger slain by a gunman was living her dream, working at the same park as her ranger husband and raising her young family.

Margaret Anderson, 34, was killed Sunday when she tried to stop a man at a roadblock inside the park after the man failed to stop at a checkpoint. Her husband Eric Anderson was working in the park at the same time, officials said.

Her father, the Rev Paul Kritsch, told the Seattle Times the couple had been looking for a long time to work in the same national park.

Margaret and Eric Anderson worked at Mount Rainier for about four years. Their two daughters are ages 3 and 2.
