Gingrich Looking Ahead Despite Disappointment In Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa - Licking his wounds after a disappointing finish in the Iowa caucuses, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says he's looking forward to a "great debate" in the Republican Party before the GOP has a great debate with President Barack Obama.

Appearing before his supporters in Des Moines, Gingrich congratulated Rick Santorum, praising him for running what Gingrich called a "great, positive campaign." Gingrich also congratulated
Ron Paul for having done very well, even as he criticized the Texas congressman for what he called "stunningly dangerous" positions on foreign policy.

One person Gingrich referred to without mentioning his name was Mitt Romney, whom he characterized as a "Massachusetts moderate." In a slap at Romney and the super Pac which supported Romney with attack ads, Gingrich vowed not to run "30-second gotchas." But he
said he reserved the right "to tell the truth."
