Spokane Police Investigating Deadly Stabbing

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police Detectives are investigating the death of a man that occurred downtown Saturday night near 410 W. 3rd Ave. Detectives have located all parties and are awaiting autopsy results on Tuesday.

The incident started on Saturday just before 8pm when officers responded to a report of a man bleeding outside an apartment complex at 410 W. 3rd Ave.

The scene was initially difficult to piece together due to the confusing nature of the circumstances. Through further investigation detectives have learned a man was banging on a secured door of the apartment complex armed with a knife. He had previously been threatening a tenant.

When the tenant attempted to flee the building he saw other people outside and quickly shut the secure door. At some point the door struck the man and his own knife cut him severely and he began bleeding profusely. The man walked a short distance before collapsing on the sidewalk.

Officers and medics attempted to treat the knife wound but the man died at a local hospital a short time later.

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. - It's been nearly two years since anyone has seen or heard from Paul Brazeau. He was last seen at his son's wedding. His brokenhearted family reached out to KHQ's Hayley Guenthner with a letter asking for his case to be featured in our Q6 Cold Case series. The day Paul vanished started out so wonderful. "It was a happy day," said Paul's aunt Georgine Glatt.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Multiple fire crews from Spokane County and the Department of Natural Resources are working to mop up a series of fires that broke out along Interstate 90 west of Spokane. Crews on scene tell us that while they don't have an exact count, there were at least 3 different fires burning, all about 5-acres in size, along I-90 between exit 272 and 277.
