COLFAX, Wash. - The Whitman County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a case of child sexual abuse in the small town of Oakesdale.
Whitman County deputies were called a report of sexual abuse involving two children, a 7-year-old and an 8-year-old. The victims identified the suspect as 43-year-old John R. Burnham of Oakesdale.
During the investigation, the victims disclosed they were inappropriately touched by Burnham while they were under his care as their parents were at work. Burnham was taken into custody without incident and is charged with two counts of Child Molestation in the 1st Degree. He is in the Whitman County Jail awaiting his first appearance.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
