KHQ.COM - Thursday's storm looks somewhat similar to Wednesday's with another round of heavy snow for Southeast Washington and North Central Idaho.

Spokane could potentially see just over 2" of new snow. The Palouse & Idaho Panhandle (Silver Valley)  another 5-10" for the valleys and 8-14" for the mountains.

A series of storms will keep things active right on through the weekend....with a brief warm up creating more of a wintry mix (Including Freezing Rain) for the Saturday and Sunday.

Tonight:  Snow will taper off....but will stick with temps in the teens. (17°)

Friday: Wintry mix of rain and snow (31°)

WASHINGTON - Trains that carry oil and other flammable materials near communities won't have to install electronically controlled braking systems to reduce risk of derailments and explosions after the Trump administration reversed an Obama-era safety rule on Monday. In a post on its website, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration argued that the cost of installing the new brakes outweighs the benefit.
