SPOKANE, Wash. - Freezing rain and cold temperatures made a mess of area roads Friday night.

Washington State Patrol spent hours helping drivers along an iced over Interstate 90 between Spokane and Cheney. Troopers tell KHQ that as soon as they had one car rescued, they would hear of two more.

Also Friday night, a jackknifed semi carrying paint thinner blocked two lanes of eastbound I90 at the Broadway exit for at least two hours. About 100 gallons of paint thinner leaked. That accident was cleared about 10:00pm.

More than a dozen car accidents and slide off closed westbound I-90 for a short time. Troopers were able to clear all collisions before midnight.

As of 11:30pm Friday night, SR 25 is closed between Davenport (MP1) and Spokane River (MP23) is closed because of adverse road conditions.
